When is Royal Ascot 2027?

Royal Ascot 2027 runs over five days from Tuesday 15 June to Saturday 19 June 2027 at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire. There are seven races a day, 35 in total, including eight Group 1 contests.

Royal Ascot is five days and 35 races of the best flat racing in Europe, mixing Group 1 championships with some of the most competitive handicaps of the season. Big fields and draw biases make it a hard meeting to call, and a popular one for tipster promotions. This hub sets out the key races and how to judge a tipster's Ascot claims.

How to judge Royal Ascot tips before you pay

  • Ask how they handle the draw

On Ascot's straight course, which side of the track is favoured can decide big-field handicaps. A good flat tipster will explain how the draw affects their selections rather than ignoring it.

  • Flat and jumps are different skills

Many racing tipsters specialise in jumps racing. Check a tipster's record on the flat specifically — a strong Cheltenham record tells you little about their Royal Ascot judgement.

  • Ask for a full, time-stamped record — not festival highlights

Every tipster posts their big festival winners. What matters is every bet they advised at the meeting in previous years, with the time it was sent and the price available then. If they can only show you winners, assume the losers were hidden.

  • Check the prices were actually available

A tip at 20/1 that was 8/1 within a minute of being sent isn't a 20/1 winner for most followers. Ask how quickly prices move after their tips and judge their record at the odds you could realistically get, ideally against Betfair SP as a sense check.

  • Treat a big meeting as a tiny sample

Even a busy festival is only a couple of dozen races. A tipster can have a brilliant or awful week by luck alone, so never judge them — or change your staking — on one meeting. Look at their whole season and several years of the same meeting.

  • Set a festival bankroll and level stakes before day one

Decide a total budget for the meeting, split it into level stakes (for example 1–2% of your bank per point) and stick to it. Chasing losses on the final day is how most people give back a good week. 18+, and only bet what you can afford to lose.

Royal Ascot — frequently asked questions

Royal Ascot 2027 runs over five days from Tuesday 15 June to Saturday 19 June 2027 at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire. There are seven races a day, 35 in total, including eight Group 1 contests.

The Gold Cup, run on the Thursday over about two and a half miles, is the historic centrepiece of the meeting. The Prince of Wales's Stakes, St James's Palace Stakes and Queen Anne Stakes are other headline Group 1 races.

Only if they show a full, time-stamped record of their flat-racing bets, including previous Royal Ascots, at prices you could get. Five days is a small sample and the handicaps are very hard to call. Check independent reviews and Trust Scores before paying.

Yes, especially in big-field handicaps on the straight course, like the Royal Hunt Cup and Wokingham. One side of the track can be favoured on a given day. Check recent results and the ground before betting, and keep stakes small in the biggest fields.

Use small level stakes, consider each-way bets where bookmakers pay extra places, and set a total budget for the week before it starts. Fields of 25 to 30 runners mean even good selections lose most of the time, so avoid chasing losses.
