Review Moderation Policy

Reviews are the heart of TipsterCheck. If they can't be trusted, nothing else on the site matters. This page explains — in plain English — exactly how we collect, check and moderate every review so you know the ratings you're reading are genuine.

Every review is checked before publication

When someone submits a review it does not go live immediately. Each review enters a moderation queue and is reviewed by our team before it is published. We check that it comes from a genuine account, doesn't contain abuse, spam, personal data or defamatory claims, and reads like a real experience rather than a plant. Only then does it appear on the tipster's profile and count towards their rating and Trust Score.

No paid reviews — ever

We do not accept payment for reviews, and tipsters cannot pay to add, remove, edit or reorder reviews. Sponsored or featured placements (clearly labelled) affect where a tipster appears in some lists, but they have no effect on that tipster's reviews, star rating or Trust Score. Only verified accounts can review

• You must be registered and have a confirmed email address before you can post — every published review comes from a verified account.
• You can leave one review per tipster. You can edit it later, but you can't stack multiple ratings to inflate or sink a score.
• Edited reviews are re-checked before the changes go live.

What we remove

We reject or take down reviews that are fake, incentivised, abusive, defamatory, off-topic, contain private information, or are posted by a tipster about themselves or a competitor. Anyone can flag a published review with the report button and our team will re-check it.

Right to reply

Tipsters who have claimed their profile get a public right to reply on any review. We believe disputes are better handled transparently in the open than by quietly deleting criticism.

Verified vs claimed

A claimed profile means the owner controls the page. A verified profile is one our team has independently checked. Neither status lets a tipster alter genuine user reviews. Read more in how we score tipsters.

Our promise

We'd rather show a tipster with few reviews than a wall of fake five-star ratings. Under the UK's consumer-protection rules we take the authenticity of reviews seriously — and we think it's simply the right thing to do. Please also read our responsible gambling guidance. 18+.
