Editorial Policy & Funding Disclosure
Last updated: October 2026
TipsterCheck publishes independent reviews, rankings and guides about sports betting tipsters. This page explains who writes our content, how it is checked, how the site is funded and how we handle mistakes and complaints.
Who writes our content
Everything on TipsterCheck is produced and signed off by the TipsterCheck Editorial Team, a small group with hands-on experience of following paid and free tipsters, keeping profit-and-loss records and investigating tipster marketing. We publish under one team name rather than individual bylines; every page shows when it was last checked by the team.
How content is researched and written
- Primary evidence first: tipster websites, published records, pricing and terms pages, and verified user reviews on TipsterCheck.
- Official sources for rules and law: the UK Gambling Commission, HMRC and BeGambleAware.
- AI-assisted drafting: some first drafts (for example summaries of review themes) are prepared with AI help. No draft is published until a team member has checked every fact and edited the copy.
- No guarantees: we never claim a tipster will make you money. A high Trust Score reflects evidence and reputation, not future profit.
Fact-checking and updates
Before publishing, we check figures, prices and claims against the original source. Rankings refresh as new reviews arrive. Each page shows a "Last checked" date, and where we have changed something important the page shows a short change log.
Funding disclosure
TipsterCheck is free to read. This is every way the site is funded, and what each one can and cannot change:
| Source | What it is | Can affect | Can never affect |
|---|---|---|---|
| Affiliate commission | Some "Visit" links pay us a commission if you sign up | Where a link points | Trust Score, star ratings, reviews, rankings order |
| Sponsored listings | A tipster pays for a labelled "Sponsored" slot | Shown first, always labelled | Trust Score, ratings, verification, reviews |
| Selling tips | We never sell tips or run a tipping service | — | — |
| Paid reviews | We never accept payment for reviews or to remove them | — | — |
The full detail is on how we make money. Trust Scores are calculated by the fixed formula on our methodology page.
Independence and conflicts of interest
Team members may not review or rank a service they have a financial interest in. Tipsters cannot see or approve a review before it goes live, and claiming a profile gives a right to reply, not editorial control.
Corrections and complaints
If something on TipsterCheck is wrong, tell us. Tipsters and readers can both raise complaints. We aim to reply within 5 working days, and every correction or upheld complaint is recorded in our public corrections and complaints log, with the date, what changed and why.
We never remove a genuine review because a tipster asked us to. Reviews are only removed if they break our review policy.
