Frequently asked questions
- What is the most important metric for judging a tipster?
- ROI (return on investment, often called yield) over a large sample is the fairest measure of profitability. Strike rate alone can be misleading because it ignores the odds you bet at.
- What's the difference between yield and ROI?
- In betting they usually mean the same thing — profit divided by total amount staked. Some sites calculate ROI on bankroll instead, which inflates the figure, so always check the definition.
- What is expected value (EV) in betting?
- Expected value is the average result of a bet if it were repeated many times. A positive-EV bet makes money on average because the odds are bigger than the true probability of the outcome.
