When is the Cheltenham November Meeting 2026?

The 2026 Cheltenham November Meeting runs from Friday 13 to Sunday 15 November 2026 at Cheltenham Racecourse. The feature race, the big two-and-a-half-mile handicap chase, is on Saturday 14 November.

The November Meeting is the real start of the jumps season at Cheltenham, headlined by the big two-and-a-half-mile handicap chase on the Saturday. Two weeks later Newbury stages one of the season's richest staying handicap chases. Early-season form is thin and fitness varies, so it's a time when tipsters' hype runs well ahead of the evidence.

How to judge Cheltenham November Meeting tips before you pay

  • Early-season fitness is a guess

Many runners are having their first race since the spring. A good tipster explains why they think a horse is fit — stable form, a recent run, a trainer's record first time out — rather than just quoting last season's ratings.

  • Don't overreact to one Saturday

A big winner in November gets advertised all winter. Judge a tipster on their record across the whole season, not one handicap.

  • Ask for a full, time-stamped record — not festival highlights

Every tipster posts their big festival winners. What matters is every bet they advised at the meeting in previous years, with the time it was sent and the price available then. If they can only show you winners, assume the losers were hidden.

  • Check the prices were actually available

A tip at 20/1 that was 8/1 within a minute of being sent isn't a 20/1 winner for most followers. Ask how quickly prices move after their tips and judge their record at the odds you could realistically get, ideally against Betfair SP as a sense check.

  • Treat a big meeting as a tiny sample

Even a busy festival is only a couple of dozen races. A tipster can have a brilliant or awful week by luck alone, so never judge them — or change your staking — on one meeting. Look at their whole season and several years of the same meeting.

  • Set a festival bankroll and level stakes before day one

Decide a total budget for the meeting, split it into level stakes (for example 1–2% of your bank per point) and stick to it. Chasing losses on the final day is how most people give back a good week. 18+, and only bet what you can afford to lose.

Cheltenham November Meeting — frequently asked questions

The 2026 Cheltenham November Meeting runs from Friday 13 to Sunday 15 November 2026 at Cheltenham Racecourse. The feature race, the big two-and-a-half-mile handicap chase, is on Saturday 14 November.

The feature is the Paddy Power Gold Cup, a Grade 3 handicap chase over about two and a half miles on the Saturday. It's one of the first major betting races of the jumps season and often goes to a well-handicapped, race-fit horse.

Only if they show a full, time-stamped record over previous seasons, not just early-season winners. Fitness is hard to judge in November, so results swing. Check independent reviews and Trust Scores on TipsterCheck before subscribing.

Newbury's big staying handicap chase, the Coral Gold Cup, is traditionally run on the last Saturday of November, provisionally Saturday 28 November 2026. It's run over about three miles two furlongs and is one of the richest handicap chases of the season.

Use small level stakes and favour horses with a recent run or a trainer known for having horses ready first time out. Treat ratings from last season with caution, and don't chase losses on big Saturdays.
