ROI, Yield & Strike Rate Calculator
How do you calculate ROI in betting?
Yield (ROI on turnover)
8.0%
Strike rate
30.0%
ROI on bank
—
Implied average winning odds ≈ 3.60 (level stakes), so the break-even strike rate is 27.8%. That's a reasonable sample, though more bets always help.
How it works
- Yield (often called ROI) = profit ÷ turnover × 100, where turnover is the total of all stakes.
- ROI on bank = profit ÷ starting bank × 100, a different number that grows with stake size.
- Strike rate = winners ÷ bets. Break-even strike rate = 1 ÷ average decimal odds; beating it is what makes a record profitable.
Worked examples
500 bets × 1pt, +40pts, 150 winners
Yield 8%, strike rate 30%. Average odds of about 3.6 beat the 27.8% break-even strike rate.
100 bets × £10, +£300
Yield 30% on £1,000 staked: impressive, but 100 bets is too few to prove it isn't luck.
£2,000 bank, £8,000 staked, +£400
Yield 5%, but ROI on bank is 20%. Tipsters quoting the bigger number aren't always comparing like with like.
