Growing up and still living in the Cotswolds near Cheltenham, my first love is inevitably jumps racing, but I love the analytical challenge of the flat game and work hard to make both codes pay. I have been a punter now for over 35 years. All my friends loved to bet too, and from the start it has always been my aim to be the most profitable. For years this initially manifested itself in reading the Sporting Life cover to cover and watching as much racing as possible. However, my job at one of the world’s biggest companies meant I never had as much time to watch or read as much as I liked or needed to, as I was often travelling. Because of this lack of study time, I have tried various tipping services to try and fill the gaps. Very few worked, and I was always left looking back after any trial period thinking, if I had put the work in, my results would be better. As the work/life balance changed and I got more time, I found Tipsters Empire and found their services to be very analytical and in keeping with the sort of research and thought processes I adopt. I decided to put my theory to the test. With the marketplace now full of more information than any one person can digest, I am now using a selection of databases and information sources that are helping me to find even more winners and gain even better results. The key is not to get overwhelmed with it all, find the sources that work for you and be diligent. When punting I tend to shy away from the obvious and am always on the look out for value, often recommending a horse that will be a lot shorter than its early price. To my mind, you get two bites of the cherry. One is the pleasure from beating the price. The second when you get a reward for it too. It doesn’t mean I don’t back favourites, but if I do, it does mean I will have tried my hardest to find something to beat it before I realise that the favourite IS the value. More often than not though, I find my greatest satisfaction in finding those big priced winners that leave you feeling good for several days and that allow you to send that extra long “BOOOOOOOOM” on WhatsApp to your mates!! Nothing gives me greater pleasure than winning big at the festivals, Flat or Jumps. I can’t promise 3 winners every day, but rest assured that each race recommendation has been worked through thoroughly, watching races, studying form, looking at trends and analysis and that bit of little gut feel that makes the difference, to find each selection. I like to have a bit of fun along the way and will be forthright in my views about rides, comments and placing, so hopefully a little bit of colour to the daily write up. I am also a keen golfer and love to punt on the golf, so we might even get the odd golf selection thrown in after a good week!!

I’m an Irish ex-industry professional with one of the big corps, turned full-time professional gambler. I grew up in Ireland near the Curragh and went to school with some prominent Irish jockeys, and I always had a keen interest in racing. The gambling mostly, but also any sort of statistical analysis on a sport was always something I was keen to explore so I would stick my head into. I was always trying to get better at my punting during college but still wasn’t making it pay. After college, I was starting to turn into a breakeven/slightly winning style of punter but was still learning and devoting a lot of my time to trying to get better. I applied for a job in a racing room of a big corporate bookmaker not long after that. I got the job and met some smart people and could see how winners operated. This was vital in fast-tracking me to a profitable punter and it just grew from there. Eventually, the writing was on the wall that it was starting to cost me money to go to work. A bizarre paradox for most. I decided to give myself 3 months as a “Mock” professional and treat everything as if I had left my job while not actually doing so. In each of my three mock months, I won my salary so there was really no decision to be made in the end. I left that job the guts of ten years ago now, and I have never looked back. I don’t usually tip at the front end, although if I see value anywhere, I will tip it. My edge can be broken down into three main components. My model, my edge, and my opinion. All of which have taken over 10 years to develop and are still developing. I am not a god or any sort of boom merchant; I suffer the variance of losing runs tipping high prices. But giving enough time and a decent sample size, I will certainly win well; there is no doubt about that.
