How to spot a scam tipster

Most tipsters aren't scams — but the ones that are all share the same warning signs. Run any service past this checklist before you pay. Spot two or three and it's time to walk away.

12 red flags of a scam tipster

1. Guaranteed profits or "can't lose" language.
2. No transparent, time-stamped record.
3. Only winning screenshots, never the losers.
4. Pressure to act now ("only 5 spots left").
5. Inflated ROI over a tiny sample.
6. Deleted or hidden losing tips.
7. Asks for your stake money or account access.
8. Anonymous with no verifiable identity.
9. Unrealistic strike rates at big odds.
10. Aggressively pushes one bookmaker (affiliate churn).
11. Fake or incentivised reviews.
12. No mention of responsible gambling.
