Burying and disputing genuine negatives
Unhappy customers get their reviews challenged, reported or drowned out by a wave of new positives. Some tipsters pressure reviewers to delete criticism in exchange for a refund. The result is a profile that looks cleaner than the reality.
Always read the one- and two-star reviews first. Patterns in the complaints — deleted tips, unachievable odds, refused refunds — tell you more than the average score.
Incentivised and fake-verified reviews
Offering a bonus or free month in exchange for a five-star review skews the average and isn't genuine feedback. And a 'verified' tag only means something if the platform actually checks the reviewer had a real transaction — see how self-applied badges work in fake verified records.

How to read a review profile properly
Look at the distribution, not just the average: a healthy profile has a spread, including some critical reviews the tipster hasn't managed to erase. Check dates for suspicious bursts, read the negatives for recurring themes, and see how the tipster responds to criticism.
